About

The Self-Care Initiative was designed to serve as a resource for teens struggling with mental illness or going through a rough time in the Inland Empire/Southern California area. It provides stress management tips and help for any teens having a hard time loving themselves. This website was created as a result of an increase in suicide among teens and is intended to help teens perception of themselves in a world where self deprecation is far too common.

This is not meant as a replacement for therapy or for people who are truly in a crises. PLEASE if you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. They are available 24 hours a day.

Other hotlines and text lines for if you are in a crises can be found on this site.

If this website helps even just one person, it has accomplished all I could wish for.
